Summary: Of all human emotions, anger is possibly the most powerful, and unhealthy anger can be the most destructive emotion, both intrapersonal and interpersonally. There are two types of anger that psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, and ministry leaders see in their practices and ministries: unhealthy anger and healthy anger. Unhealthy anger often only exacerbates conflict, making the problem worse. This unhealthy anger is usually characterized as uncontrolled and can lead to arguments, physical fights, physical abuse, assault, and self-harm. Healthy anger can work FOR the client and actually increase individual clarity, interpersonal impact, and trust. In this workshop, participants will be able to compare and contrast healthy and unhealthy anger and determine which areas of the brain are engaged or disengaged when someone is experiencing these types of anger. Utilizing neuropsychology and Emotional Relational Intelligence (ERI), the presenter will describe how to help clients manage their anger and allow it to work for them in relationships and within themselves to reduce the feelings of anger and increase more positive feelings of self-control and acceptance. This training will provide participants PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
