Summary: The U.S. continues to grow as an ethnic and culturally diverse nation. While this growing ethnic and cultural diversity enriches our country, it has also created many challenges, particularly for psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, ministry leaders, and coaches. From a faith-based perspective in Monotheistic religions, due to their sinful nature, all people are prone to hold inaccurate views of others. These potential biases influence how men tal health caregivers of any level of training interact with and provide services to their clients. Therefore, developing multicultural competencies has become essential for deliv ering effective mental health services to a multiethnic and culturally diverse society. Thus, this workshop will iden tify sociocultural challenges and opportunities in mental healthcare in the U.S., help participants become aware of implicit bias, and describe multicultural competen cies required by professional ethics codes within a biblical worldview. 1. Identify current sociocultural challenges and opportuni ties in mental healthcare given the U.S. changing demo graphics 2. Examine implicit bias and its effects on mental health care 3. Describe multicultural competencies in mental health care as described by professional ethics codes within a biblical worldview Learning Objectives Participants will:
