Summary: The Center for the Advancement of Health (cfah.org), in their report titled, “Sleep Statistics: Facts & Latest Data in America (2024 Update),” indicates 50-to-70 million Americans have some type of sleep disorder, with insom nia being an issue for 30%-40% of US adults. Twenty-five percent of women reported insomnia in the study, along with 20% of men. The current best practice for sleep is between seven and nine hours, but almost a third of adults say they sleep less than seven hours per night. Physicians have traditionally linked sleep problems to physical illness.
