Summary: The popular saying, “Time heals all wounds,” conveys that time is an essential element in the healing process. The concept of time perspective and the task of dealing with time (i.e., past, present, and future) are intrinsically part of any mental health service. While counseling theories place distinct emphasis on the past, present, and future, one of the primary tasks of psychologists and licensed mental health professionals is to help clients deal with their past, present, and future constructively. In this workshop, psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, medical professionals, ministry leaders, and coaches will explore how to use research-based techniques to effectively help clients deal with the past, present, and future. The workshop will provide faith-based principles for clients who want their faith incorporated into their treatment. Learning Objectives Participants will: 1. Examine the concept of time perspective (i.e., past, pres ent, or future) and its relevance to counseling 2. Describe research-based counseling techniques to help clients deal with the past, present, and future effectively to improve their mental health 3. Identify biblical principles that teach faith-based clients how to view the past appropriately, live in the present joy fully, and envision the future expectantly
