relationship has been established across dozens of studies between ADHD and the severity of insecure relationship styles, often measured by levels of anxiety and avoidance (Cavicchioli et al., 2022). Symptoms associated with inat tentive types of ADD are often linked with the relationship styles we call the Firefighter Style and the Security Guard Style (Kuhnley, 2024). On the other hand, ADHD manifes tations that include hyperactivity are often linked with the Investigator’s attachment style. Research-based interven tions targeting the intersection of these variables will be addressed. Research has also demonstrated that using God attachment interventions is associated with decreases in attachment-related avoidance (Knight et al., 2018) and can inform integration strategies in counseling. Given the interaction of attachment, ADHD, and emotional intel ligence (which includes the skill of emotion regulation), treatment focuses beyond the most commonly prescribed psychiatric medications, which should include the attach ment behavioral system and emotion regulation strategies. Psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, medi cal professionals, ministry leaders, and coaches will gain a toolbox of these helpful interventions. Learning Objectives Participants will: 1. Discuss the Four Relationship Styles and the unique strengths and challenges of each 2. Examine the interplay between the four styles and mani festations of ADD, ADHD, and emotion regulation 3. Describe how treatment can address each variable and unpack a toolbox of helpful interventions for enhancing attachment, attentional deployment, and emotion regulation 408.
