A Story of Love, Hope and Healing Tim’s happy, carefree childhood seemed lost forever as he descended into the delusions of schizophrenia. His brother, Dave, choosing to stay connected to Tim through the darkness, shows us how love can run deeper than mental illness.
If you know someone who suffers from mental illness, you will empa- thize with the characters and relate to their journey as I did in my personal experiences with an older brother struggling with schizophrenia. In any case, this book will knit you to the characters in their childhood so that you are comfortably strapped in with them on the wild and unpredict able ride, with its joys and its sorrows, its examination and its understanding of the illness, and the wholly unantici pated outcome. ✧ MARY BIHR, VP, GLOBAL PUBLISHING, LUCASARTS, A DIVISION OF LUCASFILM (RETIRED)
It’s a story brimming with hope, and I wholeheartedly urge you to share it with anyone you know who may have a loved one grappling with mental health challenges. ✧ MARTY SCHWEBEL, LMFT IN CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS Dave is a perceptive and insightful witness to his younger brother’s spiral into the depths of mental illness. A window into this world is a coura- geous gift to readers facing the family and relational dynamics of a loved one experiencing mental health challenges. Love will ultimately prevail in this complicated, sometimes humorous, and at other times heart wrenching, yet hopeful story. ✧ DR. ANDRE STEPHENS, PRESIDENT, FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY
