DrRhona.com Summary Addictive eating can feel like bondage for clients who strug gle with cravings, food obsession, and compulsive eating, leaving them with a sense that their brains have been hi jacked. This workshop will provide psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, and medical personnel with insights into the physical, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive factors that contribute to addictive eating. By understand ing the science behind how the brain can be rewired, par ticipants will gain tools and strategies to help clients move from addictive thinking and behaviors toward a peaceful and healthy relationship with food. Additionally, the integra tion of faith-based approaches will empower professionals to guide clients toward lasting healing and transformation, fostering hope for freedom from food-related struggles. Fur thermore, participants will engage in a discussion of how the increased media attention on weight loss medication affects clients, how these drugs are viewed by eating disorder pa tients, the need for medical professionals to ask about eating disorders prior to prescribing these medications, and also the potential need for referrals related to eating disorders and weight loss medications. Summary Psychospiritual healing integrates psychological and spiri tual elements. It is important to comprehend a client’s relationship with the spiritual realm, employ appropriate faith-based techniques, and implement actionable spiritual interventions to help Christian clients connect with God in a practical, tangible manner through spiritual disciplines and prayer. This workshop, directed toward psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, medical profession als, and ministry leaders, will examine the current research on psychospiritual interventions to help clients process and heal from past pain while being equipped with actionable tools for immediate application in their faith-based practice. Participants will learn two models: the SPEARS Decision Making Model, outlining the conscious and unconscious thought process that impacts a client’s mental health and well-being, and the Mashah Ministry Model, rooted in the Hebrew meaning of the word Mashah, which signifies pull ing or drawing out. This model offers a unique and powerful approach to psychospiritual healing utilizing prayer. These models emphasize understanding a client’s spiritual connec tion, using faith-based techniques, and taking spiritual ac tion to facilitate a practical, disciplined prayer that fosters a deeper connection with God.
