Research shows that many survi vors face ongoing struggles with depression, low self-esteem, substance abuse, and interpersonal difficulties. In this work shop, psychologists, licensed mental health professionals, and ministry leaders will develop tools to help Christian clients forgive past abuse, using a biblical approach to decision-based forgiveness. Specifically, participants will assess the benefits of any adult grappling with forgiveness of childhood trauma and define the steps of decision-based forgiveness while under standing the emotional and cognitive chains that bind individ uals to their past abuse. Participants will evaluate strategies that will be shared to support adults in overcoming these challeng es, promoting emotional and behavioral healing. Participants will examine how to apply these forgiveness strategies within a Christian worldview, helping individuals achieve emotional peace, behavioral resolution, and a restored sense of trust. Learning Objectives 1. Identify and assess the emotional and cognitive chains that bind individuals to their past abuse, gaining insight into how these factors hinder emotional healing and forgiveness.
2. Define decision-based forgiveness and explain its applica tion to childhood abuse, emphasizing a biblical approach to forgiveness within a Christian worldview. 3. Evaluate and apply specific forgiveness strategies to sup port adults in overcoming past childhood trauma, promoting emotional peace, behavioral resolution, and restoration of trust in relationships. 219. Presenters will highlight the foundational principles guiding human flourishing, exploring the spiritual and sci entific dimensions contributing to resilience, happiness, and health. Emphasis will be placed on the integral connection be tween faith practices, spiritual strength, and a healthy lifestyle, which together serve as vital components for achieving ho listic well-being. This session is designed for life coaches and ministry leaders and will focus on how character virtues, men tal and emotional health, physical well-being, relationship at tachments, and a sense of meaning and purpose in both work and life are all crucial factors for long-term flourishing. Learning Objectives 1. Evaluate current research on faith-based human flourish ing, the science of well-being, lifestyle medicine, and the key risk factors contributing to languishing. 2. Identify a comprehensive faith-based model of well-being incorporating practices promoting spiritual healing, the body mind connection, and mental, emotional, and physical health. 3. Develop personalized, faith-integrated plans for clients, applying evidence-based practices to foster holistic well-be ing and measurable, positive change in their lives.
