Summary Global migration and displacement are rising annually due to political turmoil, safety threats, economic hardships, armed conflict, harassment, and persecution. Migrants from the Mid dle East and North Africa often move to neighboring countries for geographical and cultural reasons, while others aim for dis tant destinations, particularly in the Global West. Practitioners, clinicians, educators, researchers, and spiritual caregivers need enhanced cross-cultural understanding and therapeutic skills to support these populations. This workshop covers the mi grants’ mental-emotional needs, social-cultural struggles, and common misconceptions. It also explores their norms, values, split identities, traumas, and survival strategies. Additionally, it identifies the challenges they face in assimilation, accommoda tion, and acculturation within new host societies. The seminar provides practical tips, clinical tools, therapeutic guidelines, re sources, and an extended bibliography for future reference. Learning Objectives 1. Describe three struggles, needs, challenges, and function ing patterns of migrants-refugees, especially Arab-Americans, about their generational values, coping, and adaptations. 2. Outline two negative generalizations and two differences between the assimilation/integration and fragmentation/ isolation processes of minority populations. 3. Apply three therapeutic interventions or clinical questions to effectively assess immigrants-refugees and help them ac culturate/navigate the American psychosocial landscape. 724. Unlocking Potential: Integrating Positive Psychol ogy into Coaching 1.25 credit hours Continuing Education Accreditations applicable to this workshop: IBCC Level: Intermediate Summary This session explores foundational Positive Psychology con cepts and how these powerful frameworks can be actively ap plied to enhance coaching outcomes and foster client growth. In this workshop, ministry leaders and coaches will engage in interactive exercises and collaborative activities that allow participants to experience key concepts firsthand. Participants will discuss how to implement Positive Psychology frame works, such as the Broaden-and-Build Theory and the concept of “flow,” to boost client focus, engagement, and satisfaction. Participants will also discover how to apply Positive Psychol ogy interventions, including savoring, optimism exercises, and positive visualization, to foster a lasting sense of well-being and resource-building with clients. Additionally, participants will identify real-world applications and gain practical tools to enhance client growth by incorporating positive emotions, ulti mately creating lasting, positive changes in the clients’ lives. Summary Regulatory boards for behavioral health licenses are necessary for the ethical and legal practice of mental healthcare. In this workshop, experienced board members will demystify many aspects of these regulatory boards for psychologists and other licensed mental health professionals. Utilizing the board of counseling as an example, the presenters will explain how to navigate a complex framework of ethical and legal responsi bilities, where missteps can result in formal complaints and potential disciplinary actions by licensing boards. This pre sentation aims to reduce anxiety surrounding licensing board processes by providing a clear understanding of the regula tory landscape. It will review the various layers of regulations that govern counselors, including federal and state statutes, board rules, board policies, and professional codes of ethics. Through case examples, the presentation will explore how these different regulations intersect and impact the counsel ing practice. Additionally, the session will examine common issues that often lead to complaints, investigations, and dis ciplinary actions, with a detailed walk-through of the process from the initial complaint to trial. The presentation will con clude by discussing when and how to proactively engage with licensing boards to prevent potential ethical or legal issues. Attendees will leave with a solid understanding of regulatory expectations and strategies for ensuring ethical compliance. Learning Objectives 1. Differentiate between federal statutes, state statutes, board rules, board policies, and professional ethical codes to en sure full regulatory compliance. 2. Identify common mistakes that lead to licensing board complaints and develop strategies to avoid these issues in their practice. 3.
