cissistic patterns of behavior that are usually subtle but just as debilitating as any overt narcissist. Discussions amongst participants will take place regarding myths and misun derstandings of narcissism, narcissistic personality disor der (NPD), and the uniqueness of the vulnerable narcissist. Furthermore, participants will expand their understanding of how a client with NPD affects those around them, even to the point of engaging in narcissistic abuse, and the best treat ment options for this disorder and those affected. American Association of Christian Counselors Summary The mental health field recognizes that spirituality has become an area of value and could be incorporated as a multicultural competency requirement within their prac tice. Understanding how to better address and engage with Christian clients in biblical spirituality can be unclear and confusing. This workshop will cover the necessity of licensed mental health professionals, pastoral counselors, and coaches on how to develop a biblical foundation for the spiritual dimension in counseling with Christian clients. Participants will discuss research supporting the value and benefits when spirituality is addressed within sessions while focusing on the process of utilizing Scripture for building personal spirituality with clients. Participants will evaluate neurotheologians’ insights on how to assist clients in identifying the importance of utilizing information to pursue spiritual formation. Family play therapy levels the playing field for all family members, and children are honored when treated as equal members of the system, combining play therapy and family systems therapy. Play therapy methods are established to enable those in the family who may have challenges expressing issues by dis tinguishing the client’s voice within a home andallowing all family members to be on equal footing in the clinical space. Psychologists and mental health professionals will explore the theory and rationale for using family play therapy when children are involved in the process and recognize the use and benefits for troubled and hurting families. Participants will discuss the bonds and binds that come into the thera py room that involve children while also recognizing how young family members are often forgotten in the session—or compelled to participate in the adult “talk therapy” process. A wealth of information will be provided to participants on how family play therapy can affect communication and rela tional dynamics within the family. Learning Objectives 1.
