He is dedicated to providing the education, products, and services to accomplish this goal. Dr. Amen is a physician, adult and child psychiatrist, and founder of Amen Clinics with 10 locations across the U.S. Amen Clinics has the world’s largest database of brain scans for psychiatry totaling more than 200,000 SPECT scans on patients from 155 countries. He is the founder of BrainMD, a fast growing, science-based nutraceutical company, and Amen University, which has trained thousands of medi cal and mental health professionals on the methods he has developed. In addition, he has produced 16 national public television shows about the brain and his online videos on brain and mental health have been viewed over 300 million times. School of Public Health, and Director of the Human Flour ishing Program and Co-Director of the Initiative on Health, Spirituality, and Religion at Harvard University. He holds degrees from the University of Oxford, University of Penn sylvania, and Harvard University in mathematics, philoso phy, theology, finance, and biostatistics. His methodological research is focused on theory and methods for distinguish ing between association and causation in the biomedical and social sciences and, more recently, on psychosocial measurement theory. His empirical research spans psychi atric and social epidemiology; the science of happiness and flourishing; and the study of religion and health. He is the re cipient of the 2017 Presidents’ Award from the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS). Dr. VanderWeele has published over 500 papers in peer-reviewed journals; is author of the books Explanation in Causal Inference (2015), Modern Epidemiology (2021), Measuring Well-Being (2021), Handbook of Religion and Health (2023), and A Theology of Health (2024); and writes a monthly blog posting on topics related to human flourishing for Psychology Today . Harold Koenig, M.D., completed his undergraduate educa tion at Stanford University, his medical school training at the University of California at San Francisco, and his geriat ric medicine, psychiatry, and biostatistics training at Duke University. He is board certified in general psychiatry, and formerly boarded in family medicine, geriatric medicine, and geriatric psychiatry. He is on the faculty at Duke Univer sity Medical Center as Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Medicine. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University, Jed dah, Saudi Arabia, and is Adjunct Professor in the School of Public Health at Ningxia Medical University, Yinchuan, Chi na (2014-2023). In addition, he is a Visiting Professor at Shi raz University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran. He serves on the Board of Reference to the Global Center for Human Flourishing at Liberty University. Dr. Koenig has published more than 650 scientific peer-reviewed academic articles, 100 book chapters, and 67 books in print or preparation. His research has been featured on many national and interna tional TV programs (including ABC’s World News Tonight, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Dr. Oz Show, NBC Nightly News) and hundreds of national and internation al radio programs and newspapers/magazines (including Reader’s Digest, Parade Magazine, Newsweek, and Time ).
