COME AND SEE: DISCOVERING GOD IN THE PROCESS OF GRIEF

Timothy R. Gaines, Ph.D.

30 Christian Counseling Connection i

It has been several years since grief was thrust upon me and my family, and I am still not ready to say that it was part of some grand plan to teach us a valu able lesson. I have, however, learned a lot through grief. That isn’t to say that the lesson justifies the tragedy we endured when a traumatic accident claimed the life of my father. It is to say that the process of grief became an arena for me to discover some things about God I had not previously been able to see. I am a trained theologian and pastor, so questions about tragedy and the problem of evil are nothing new to me.
